POLICE have warned they will make arrests if a right-wing political party defies a march ban.
The National Front's website says it plans to "assemble" in Sunderland on Saturday, to protest against asylum-seekers - although it does not give a time or venue.
Last month, Home Secretary David Blunkett imposed a three-month ban to prevent the party staging a march in the city.
The NF instead planned to hold a rally, which police insisted should be held for 15 minutes in a park.
It never took place, as public order legislation was invoked to arrest 25 activists in a bus on the city's outskirts.
Tyne and Wear Against Racism, which was involved in a peaceful protest against racism in the city centre before the NF event, is planning a similar gathering.
Superintendent Graham Pears, of Northumbria Police, said the force had not been notified of any gathering but the ban would be enforced.
