THESE remarkable pictures obtained by The Northern Echo show the devastating impact the terrorist suicide attacks had on the World Trade Centre.
They were taken just minutes after the two hijacked passenger jets crashed into the centre's famous twin towers.
Freelance journalist John Riddle, from Hartlepool, was handed the pictures by a friend who works for an American computer firm.
The stunned worker had been in a tower block opposite the World Trade Centre and managed to fire off a few camera frames showing the unfolding tragedy.
