WORK by Middlesbrough artist Glynn Porteous, which is on display on Teesside, has reunited him with an old admirer.
In the 1970s, Mr Porteous's work was featured in military magazines and catalogues. Schoolboy Phil Philo, now the curator of the council's museums, was a huge fan of his work.
Now Kirkleatham Old Hall Museum, near Redcar, is showing his work, to the delight of Mr Philo.
"Today it is a privilege for the same lad to be helping to stage this exhibition of work and to be sharing the wonder of Glynn's talent with visitors to the museum."
Mr Porteous spent 19 years as an artist for the former Cleveland County Council's surveyor and engineers' department, then took voluntary redundancy 14 years ago, to concentrate on freelance work.
Mr Porteous said: "Phil's very flattering but I hate all my stuff when it's finished. A lot of artists are like that. But I'm really pleased with this exhibition."
It is on display until October 14.
