A MUSEUM chief has come face to face with an idol of his school days.
Glynn Porteous's artwork was a regular feature of military magazines and catalogues pored over in the 1970s by schoolboys such as Phil Philo.
Now, Mr Philo is curator of the Redcar Kirkleatham Hall Museum, near Redcar, which is featuring a show of 65 pieces of miniature modeller Mr Porteous's work.
Mr Philo said: "Today, it is a privilege for that same lad to be helping to stage this exhibition of work and to be sharing the wonder of Glynn's talent with visitors to the museum."
Mr Porteous, from Middlesbrough, said: "I went in for modelling competitions and won a few.
"Phil's very flattering, but I hate all my stuff when it's finished. A lot of artists are like that. But I'm really pleased with this exhibition, to be honest."
The exhibition runs until October 14.
