OLDER cinema fans are getting more chances to see their favourite films with the expansion of a movie club.
Silver Screen morning sessions have been held at the ABC Cinema in Darlington for several months. The sessions, every Monday from 10.30am, are open to people aged 60 or over.
Now the club is being extended to Thursday afternoons.
ABC manager Nicola Waller said: "The showings have proved really popular. We had 105 people in on Monday, which was great. We show a mixture of old and modern films."
One regular visitor to the Silver Screen Club has given the cinema a list of films she would like to see and the staff are speaking to distributors to see if the requests can be granted.
Ms Waller said: "We have requests for old films like It's a Wonderful Life, and the next movie is Bridget Jones. We also have a lot of interest in some children's films."
For just £1.50, cinema-goers can watch a film and have tea or coffee, and biscuits.
