CALLERS to a cable company are more likely to get through under new shift patterns.
A survey by ntl found that the number of calls to its Stockton headquarters, on Preston Farm Business Park, increased significantly once people got home from work. On the other hand, there were very few calls on Sundays.
As a result, the firm has decided to change its rotas to deploy more staff on an evening.
Starting from the weekend, the call centre will be closed for general inquiries on Sundays, releasing more staff to work at peak times.
Customer service director Cheryl Black said: "Our call centre has not always been able to react when demand for our services increased, but hopefully the customers will now see that we are responding to their needs.
"I am sure they will benefit from these changes."
Customers can ring the call centre on (01642) 642642 from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday, and from 9am to 6pm on Saturday. Faults can still be reported on Sundays using the same number.
