A BOOK of condolence to remember the victims of America's worst terrorist attack has been opened in Newcastle.
It was officially signed by the Lord Mayor, Councillor Mary Carr, council leader Councillor Tony Flynn and Elswick ward councillor Sajawal Khan yesterday.
The book will be available to members of the public from 8.30am to 4.30pm from Monday to Friday.
A short service of prayer will be held at St Thomas The Martyr, Haymarket, New-castle at 5.30pm today. There will also be a remembrance service at St Ann's, Battlefield, Quayside, Newcastle, at 12.30pm
