NEW members are being sought for a group dedicated to people who took part in two historic emergencies involving the British armed forces.
The North Yorkshire and Dales branch of the National Malaya and Borneo Veterans' Association was formed three years ago by Trevor Kershaw, of Bedale.
The branch, part of a national organisation which has built up a membership of 3,640 since it was founded in 1994, meets on the last Thursday of every month at 3pm in the Old Black Swan, Bedale.
The branch has 44 members, including some from Scarborough and Middlesbrough, and 14 regular attenders at meetings in Bedale. Membership fee is £5 a year.
Membership is open to anyone who served in the Army, RAF, Royal Navy or Malayan police force, which included some British officers.
Wives, children and grandchildren of anyone who served during the two emergencies are eligible to become associate members.
For more details contact Mr Kershaw on (01677) 424750.
