THE ice hockey Superleague announced that this weekend's Newcastle Jesters games have been postponed "in light of the atrocious terrorist attacks on the US".

Fixture changes had to be made because of planned flights into the country from the US by North American members of Sheffield Steelers, who would have been preparing for the team's opening games of their delayed season.

The situation also halts flights due into Tyneside carrying North American members of Newcastle Jesters.
