A MYSTERIOUS benefactor has donated £6,000 to an east Cleveland charity.
Saltburn Animal Rescue Association (Sara) will use the legacy towards its sanctuary appeal.
The charity aims to provide accommodation for the animals it rehomes as it always has more animals than foster parents and adopters.
The donation boosts the appeal to £43,000, but it will take an estimated £300,000 to build and run the sanctuary.
Ann Prosser, rehoming officer for Sara, said the group planned to put bids in for cash next year.
"There is a lot of money out there if we could just tap in to that, and it is just a case of asking how we can get hold of those funds. We are also looking at one or two properties to get an idea of what we need and what will be practical. We do need to raise more money, but it is moving forward."
She said that a three-legged collie cross bitch was just one of the many animals that needed rehoming.
Sheeba is five years old, and described as "delightful".
Anyone interested in giving it a permanent home can call Ms Prosser on (01287) 623872.
