A CHARITY which helps people with multiple sclerosis has received a boost.
The Darlington branch of the Multiple Sclerosis Society is £3,000 better off after a cheque for that sum was presented to the charity by British Telecom at Crathorne Hall Hotel, near Yarm.
Branch press officer Jane Sinski, from Middleton St George, said the money was a wonderful gesture and particularly welcome at a time when the group was trying to raise £28,000 for a caravan and minibus for multiple sclerosis sufferers.
Every year, British Telecom runs an internal competition to find the top directory enquiry operator. Four finalists attended a lunch at Crathorne Hall.
Lorraine Craggs, from Grimsby, was named North of England operator of the year and nominated the Multiple Sclerosis Society to receive the £3,000 award.
