Paul Errington and Gary Adey wrote their names into the record books when they produced magnificent performances for Federation Special Durham Senior League club Hetton Lyons.
Paul achieved the unbelievable feat of taking six wickets in an over and Gary claimed four with successive deliveries.
Coundon hardly knew what had hit them when they met Hetton Lyons in the semi-final of the R S Pratt Cup. Paul started his second over by bowling the batsman and then had a catch taken behind the wicket from his second ball.
"I then bowled a couple of the opposition and I suddenly thought if I managed five, I would better my performance as a ten-year old when I took four wickets in four balls for the Under-13 side," said Paul.
The fifth batsman was given out leg before and Paul celebrated when he knocked the off stump out of the ground with his sixth delivery.
"It was an unbelievable feeling. Everybody has been congratulating me and no-one can remember a player taking all six wickets in an over," added the 21-year old pace bowler who has only ever played for Hetton Lyons.
Gary, 17, also hit the headlines when he captured four wickets with successive deliveries for the junior side in the semi final of the Friarside Cup against Blaydon.
The fast bowler, who has played for the club since he was 11, bowled his first three victims before claiming an lbw with his fourth ball.
"I took five wickets for six runs in the match with Shotley Bridge last season but this was my best performance. It was great to take four wickets from four balls and I do not suppose I will ever better my record," said Gary who like Paul regularly plays in the Hetton Lyons second team.
Hetton Lyons secretary Michael Young said that the performances of the two players had delighted everyone in the club. "It is an honour for them and for us and we will be making presentations to them in the near future," said Young.
