Junior round-up - Whitley Bay Mischiefs earned an excellent point from a 4-4 draw against Kingston River Rats in the English Under-10 North. Mischiefs gained the point with an all important equaliser from James Chivers with a little under three minutes remaining.
Kingston were ahead in the fifth minute and four minutes later Adam Perrie was on hand to drive home Whitley's opening goal.
The home side regained their advantage early in the final period but twice in as many minutes Mischiefs struck to go 3-2 ahead at 27.41. Liam Brown and Perrie on target for Whitley.
Kingston did likewise with two quick goals to go ahead once again. The brave Mischiefs picked up the point at 37.11.

Sunderland Commanches defeated Nottingham Tigers twice at the weekend in the English Pee-Wee (Under-14) North A League. The first meeting at the Telewest Arena on Saturday brought Commanches a 4-2 victory.
Dean Holland put Commanches ahead after three minutes and Richard Westgarth doubled the lead soon afterwards. Tigers cut the deficit after nine minutes only to see Westgarth score his second for a 3-1 lead. The restart was only in the opening seconds when James Moutrey converted a powerplay.
Nottingham added a second minutes later to complete the scoring. Commanches' Dean Holland received a five plus game misconduct for high sticks at 35.19.

Sunderland Tomahawks suffered their second loss of the season from a 5-3 reversal against Nottingham Leopards in the English Under-19 North A League.
Leopards went ahead in the fifth minute and a short-handed goal at 08.56 increased the advantage. Another powerplay two minutes in to the second period increased the lead to 3-0
Tomahawks fought back to tie the scores at 3-3 at 33.46. Kristian Lloyd, Adam Carr and Michael Allinson all scoring in a two-minute spell. Rory Dunn in Tomahawks net made fine saves to keep the scores level. He was beaten twice in the final period as Nottingham took the upper hand.

Sunderland Cherokees suffered a 5-1 loss at the Telewest Arena against Sheffield Lasers in the English Bantam (Under-12) North A League.
Sheffield took the lead at 03.33 and were 2-0 ahead after 12 minutes. Cherokees reduced the deficit with a Nathan Salem strike before the break.
The visitors completed the scoring with two further goals without reply in the final period.
Cherokees: Nathan Salem 1+0, Ross Cameron 0+1.
In the same competition Whitley Bay Arrows trounced Telford Terrahawks 12-3. Whitley were ahead at 02.10 and Telford drew level 25 seconds later.
Arrows scored six in the first period from Callum Pattison, Jamie Tinsley (2), Callum Watson (2) and Josh Buck for a 7-1 lead.
Danny Lamb brought Arrows an 8-1 advantage at 20.59. Telford scored a second 20 seconds later. Buck Tinsley, Walton and Andrew Wood increased the advantage for Whitley. Tinsley and Watson both completed their hat-tricks.
