THE daughter of a former England football star was married in a Teesside church on Saturday.
Kathryn Nish, daughter of ex-Leicester and Derby star David Nish, married her boyfriend of five years, Jonathan Spears, 28, in a ceremony at St Peter's Church, in Stockton.
The 27-year-old bride, who inherited her father's flair for sport, was an under-21 netball player for the country. Her bodybuilding husband once came fourth in the Mr Great Britain contest.
The pair, of Preston Lane, Stockton, met at the town's Moores gym, where they are both members.
Kathryn's father, who celebrates his 54th birthday next week, moved his family to the North-East in 1988 when he joined the coaching team for a four-year stint at Middlesbrough Football Club. He split with his wife in 1991 before moving back to Leicester, but his family stayed on Teesside.
Defender and midfielder Mr Nish was the youngest-ever FA Cup final skipper for Leicester City in 1969 and gained five full England caps.
