TOWNSFOLK stepped back in time at the weekend as the past came back to life in Northallerton.
Local historians staged their second History Day in the town hall - and the event caught the imagination of the public.
The day was held as a celebration and appreciation of the history of North Yorkshire and involved exhibitions, displays, talks and entertainment.
Northallerton and District Local History Society also exhibited a multi-media community archive they are setting up at the town's library with the help of the proceeds from last year's event.
It will trace the history of the town and district from its origins back in Anglo-Saxon times right up the present day
