A CHARITY funfair raised hundreds of pounds for a young boy suffering from leukaemia at the weekend.
All proceeds from Darlington College of Technology's annual September party will go to a local charity which is raising money to send Alan Clough to the US for treatment.
The event attracted corporate sponsorship from Tesco and Richmond Co-op, which supported a fashion show and a cooking competition.
The event ended with a sponsored balloon release, in which the owner and recipient of the balloon that travels the furthest will each win a prize to the value of £25.
One balloon has already been returned, having reached France.
The college also ran a range of demonstrations and hosted various computer-based activities at the fair, including an introduction to surfing the Internet.
A presentation of the total amount raised will be made later this month
