HUNDREDS of people have signed a town's book of condolence for victims of the American terrorist attacks.
Since it was opened on Friday, more than 30 pages of the Middlesbrough Borough Council book have been filled. For those still wishing to sign it, the town hall will be open from 8.30am to 4.30pm weekdays for a further two weeks.
The Mayor, Councillor Pat Walker, said: "The reaction from people to these dreadful events has been - as we knew it would be - one of solidarity and sympathy towards all those who lost loved ones and all citizens of the US."
Flags on the town hall will remain at half-mast indefinitely. to mark the tragedy.
