TWO pub parties have raised money to help young kidney disease patients.
John and Clare Bootland, of the Uplands Hotel, Crook, have set a £2,000 target to help buy dialysis machines for the children's kidney unit at the Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle, and aid kidney disease research.
They opened the grounds of their pub for two Sunday afternoons, when young guests could splash in two pools, jump on a bouncy castle, have their faces painted and enjoy a range of other attractions, including displays by firefighters and police.
The fun sessions raised £130 towards their appeal. More events are planned.
