FAMILIES turned out for two pub parties raising money for young hospital patients.
John and Clare Bootland, from the Uplands Hotel, in Crook, have set themselves a £2,000 target for their campaign to help buy dialysis machines for the children's kidney unit at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle and contribute to kidney research.
They opened up their grounds for two Sunday afternoons when guests could splash about in two pools, jump on a bouncy castle, have their faces painted and enjoy a range of other attractions, including displays by firefighters and police.
The fun sessions raised a total of £130 towards their appeal and other events are planned
