THREE generations of one family appear in Northallerton operatic society's production of The Sound of Music next month.
Sara Boomsma, centre, plays Louisa, one of the von Trapp children, while her mother, Ruth, is cast as Sister Margaretta, and her grandmother, Margaret Umpleby is the Mother Abbess.
Mrs Umpleby and her husband, Tom, are founder members of the society.
Her daughter, Ruth, made her debut with the society in 1966 and Sara's first appearance was in The King and I in 1998.
This is the first time all three have appeared together in a production.
The show runs from Monday, October 22, to Saturday, October 27, at Hambleton community centre, Northallerton.
Advance booking details can be obtained by telephoning Mrs Willoughby on Northallerton 770936.
