PEOPLE who are unable to study because they cannot pay for childcare, travel or accommodation, are to receive a cash boost.
The Learning and Skills Council has pledged £2.5m to help disadvantaged people in Tyne and Wear take up learning opportunities.
Tom Crompton, director of programmes at the Learning and Skills Council Tyne and Wear, said: "This funding will help break down the financial barriers which prevent disadvantaged people in this region taking up full or part- time education because they can't afford the associated costs of learning."
