A DRIVER is thought to have had a heart attack at the wheel of his car, losing control of the vehicle which crashed in the central reservation of the A1 yesterday.
Paramedics managed to revive the victim at the scene, just south of the Leeming Bar Motel in North Yorkshire.
He was taken to the Friarage Hospital in Northallerton, but died later.
The southbound carriageway was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident, which happened at about 8.30am.
