A COLLEGE'S first full-time chaplain says she is looking forward to combining her two great passions - teaching and the ministry.
The Reverend Jan Cheeseman will take up the new position at Harrogate Ladies' College later this month.
She is moving to the college from St Aidan's Church of England High School, in Harrogate, where she has been teaching religious studies for five years.
She said: "This is a very exciting move for me. It will be unlike anything I've done before and a real challenge - the objective and academic role of a teacher is obviously very different from that of chaplain.
"I hope to operate an open-door policy, so that people know I'm around if they would like to talk."
