A YOUNG DJ with a learning disability has enrolled on a foundation course in music, dance and drama.
Andrew McCloud, from Ushaw Moor, Durham City, has always been creative and now composes lyrics for the songs he produced.
Equipped with a keyboard and computer at home, the 22- year-old regularly records dance tracks for his friends and family to enjoy.
Andrew attends the Empower Day Centre in Chester-le-Street, where staff noticed his talents.
They asked him to record music for use in the county council's sensory rooms, designed to stimulate and relax clients with severe learning disabilities.
He has now enrolled on a course at Newcastle College to develop his skills further.
Aimed at people with a learning disability, Andrew hopes the course will help him get his music recognised on the North-East dance scene and further afield.
He said: "I'd love to hear my tracks being played on the radio and in nightclubs.
