BOSSES have moved to quash rumours that Darlington's only cinema is to be sold.
The ABC in Northgate is the only option for people in the town who have no way of travelling to the Showcase Cinema at Teesside Park or other towns.
Rumours have been circulating in Darlington suggesting the ABC has been put on the market, or has been sold, leading to fears that the town would be left without its own cinema.
The Odeon Cinemas group, which owns the site, said the rumours were untrue.
Regional manager Ken Creelman said: "It is not up for sale."
