A FEASIBILITY study is to be carried out over 12 months into a new multi-modal crossing of the River Tees.
Consultation on the proposal for a new road and rail crossing of the river between South Bank and Port Clarence was carried out earlier this year.
A leaflet was sent to businesses, transport operators and other interested parties in the Tees Valley and the responses were positive, with preference given for a road crossing using a tunnel or high level bridge design.
The study will be funded by One NorthEast and will form an important element in a package of measures announced by the government to help deal with the effects of recent job losses at Corus
