SUPPORTERS are being asked to step in at the last minute to help a group of youngsters take part in a trip to Ghana.
The Ghana Project aims to take 12 youngsters from Deckham, on Tyneside, to Africa to work on community projects.
Already more than £12,000 has been raised, but £4,000 is still needed.
Trip organiser John Lawler said: "The group has had tremendous backing locally, but more is needed as the proposed departure date of October 13 is looming and all are in the process of having their vaccinations."
