WALKERS from all over the region turned out at the weekend in memory of a council officer who lost his life in the Southall rail disaster.
The Ged Traynor Memorial Walk, on Sunday, covered a 13-mile circular route at Peterlee, east Durham.
Mr Traynor, who worked for the District of Easington Council, was one of seven people killed in the 1998 train crash.
Members of Mr Traynor's family joined council workers and enthusiasts in the walk.
Some also raised cash for the mayor's chosen charity, Chin Up
