DOCUMENTARY film and photography of the Jarrow March will be exhibited for the first time in 25 years.
The exhibition comes before the unveiling of a Jarrow March sculpture, due to take place in the Tyneside town next month.
Artefacts, including the only remaining Jarrow Crusade banner and prayer books carried by the men in the 1930s march, will also be displayed to commemorate the men who marched to London to protest against unemployment.
Local artist Vince Rea has been commissioned by Morrisons Supermarkets to make the life-size bronze sculpture, due to be unveiled on Friday, October 5 - the 65th anniversary of the march.
Mr Rea said: "I would like people to think of the exhibition as an extension of the sentiment behind sculpture, a dignified mark of respect of great interest. For people who are not familiar with our local history it will tell them all about the Jarrow March."
