AN airline last night announced a 24-hour extension to its offer of £1 flight tickets.
Ryanair, which operates flights between Teesside International Airport and Dublin, said the move followed a record-breaking sale of mid- week seats for October and November for £9.99.
Announcing the extension, Michael Cawley Commercial Director said: "This seat sale is already the largest in the history of the airline.''
Ryanair came up with the idea of giving away tickets to bolster passenger confidence in flying, following the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Centre and the Pentagon, in the US.
Mr Cawley said: "Due to the phenomenal demand for low fares air travel, we have decided to extend the offer for one more day."
It will now finish at midnight tonight.
People wanting to take up the offer should book on line with www.ryanair.com. For further details, telephone 0870 1569569.
