DIVERSE creations by art club members are intended to catch the eye many visitors to a council's headquarters building in next few weeks.
More than 80 paintings and drawings by members of Beamish Hall Art Group were mounted at County Hall, Durham, on Monday.
The display, in the Durham Room, near the County Hall public reception area, features the work of about 40 club members.
Their latest annual exhibition includes watercolours, oils, acrylics, many of them local landscape scenes, plus still-life and portraits.
Despite Beamish Hall's closure as an adult education centre, the club has retained its original name, even though members now meet at the community centre, in Bearpark, near Durham.
They meet on the second Sunday of each month, between 10am and 3.30pm.
County councillor Alan Fenwick performed the opening of the display at a preview, which remains on show until Friday, October 5
