GOLFERS did their bit yesterday for a relief fund for New York firefighters.
All money raised from the third golf tournament staged by Northallerton's Broadacres Housing Association will be donated to a fund set up in the wake of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Centre.
More than 40 golfers took part in the event, at Romanby Golf Club, attended by North Yorkshire's deputy chief fire officer David Wynne.
Jan Mazurk, of Broadacres, said: "With the recent tragedy at the front of everyone's mind, to choose the families and dependants of the fire fighters seemed only right."
