A FATHER-of-two who robbed a Metro passenger after threatening him has been jailed.
Neil Whitehouse, 22, approached the teenager, who was on the Tyneside transport system, and said he had a weapon which he was willing to use.
Newcastle Crown Court heard that the youngster handed over his gold chain to Whitehouse during the attack on July 7.
The court was told that Whitehouse had been convicted for a spate of similar robberies against other Metro travellers.
Whitehouse, of Whitehill Road, Gateshead, admitted robbery, theft from a Newcastle craft store and obstructing police. He asked for an offence of theft and one of attempted theft to be taken into account.
Judge Peter Bowers sentenced him to three years and ten months in jail.
