TRIMDON are keeping the pressure on leaders Herrington after they won their sixth successive game defeating Marsden 3-2.
The home side, however, missed an opportunity to level when John McElroy, who had scored his side's two goals, failed to convert a penalty. Trimdon celebrated with goals by Ian Ward (2) and Liam Parsons.
Trimdon are just three points behind Herrington and have a match in hand on their rivals.
Herrington also boast a 100 per cent record which they maintained at the expense of Sacriston who they defeated 5-0 with goals from Craig Ellison and Jeff Hepple who both scored twice and Jamie Bennett.
Washington Dunlop produced the highest score of the day when they hit South Shields 12-1.
Daniel Graham rifled seven goals and others flowed from David Armstrong (2), David Fittes, Paul Hanson and Steve Middlemiss.
Ryhope put seven goals past Springboard when Anthony Norman (2), Ian Mulholland (2), Glen Bosher, Mark Egglestone and Wayne Carr all found the net.
In contrast, goals were at a premium when Lumley conceded their 100 per cent record when they lost 2-1 at Jarrow St Bedes.
Stephenson gave Jarrow a half-time interval lead before Ryan Drummond struck for Lumley, but a penalty by Paul Leonard earned Jarrow the points which moved them into third position behind Herrington and Trimdon.
The game between Lambton Street and Hebburn was abandoned after an hour following an injury to a player. At that stage Lambton Street led by 4-2 with goals from David Snowden (2), Mark Carruthers and Shaun King.
New County North Durham Youth League
A hat-trick by Paul Leighton featured in Consett's 9-2 defeat of South Shields Abfad in the Under-16 division. Adam Carr and Dean Codling replied for South Shields.
David Smith and Tony Thirkell (2) eased Redheugh to a 3-2 victory visiting Leam Rangers who responded through Liam Allison and David Smith while Sandhole and Winlaton shared the points. Shaun Hodgson netted for Sandhole with Chris Henderson on the mark for Winlaton.
Goals by Peter Fairless (2), Dean Bramwell, Chris Laws and Ian Glazinsky earned Cleveland Hall a 5-2 success at Crookhall for whom Mark Naylor and Gary Charlton struck.
In division B Wear Valley hammered Rutherford 10-0 as the goals flowed from Craig Cluskey (3), Daniel Haddon (3), Wayne Kennedy (2), Peter Gilchrist and Dean Hanson.
Felling were not far behind in the scoring stakes and they struck nine times at Newton Aycliffe whose only goal came Liam Cooper. Ian Chippendale (3), Mark White (2), Craig Garrett (2), Mark Berry and Graham Thornton were all on the mark for Felling.
Goals from David Middlemiss (2), Mark Cuthbertson (2) and Stephen Dobbing enabled Waldridge Park to win 5-1 against Swalwell for whom Mark Shepherd replied.
In the Under-17 division Consett comfortably defeated Newcastle East End 3-0 with strikes from Paul McDonald (2) and Mark Younger and Redheugh finished 4-2 in front of Annfield Plain. Stephen Brown (2), Graham Brown and Stephen Small all found the net for the Reds with Jonathan Burns and Stephen Kirkbridge netting for Annfield Plain.
David Cain struck four times in Dawdon's 6-3 defeat of Cleveland Hall. Adam Graham and Dean Anderson also scored with Kevin Poppleton, Paul Baptise and Daniel Armery responding for Cleveland Hall.
Scott Lydon, Chris Tinkler, James Sheldon, Simon Peel and David Thompson all found the net in Blackfyne's 5-2 victory against Chopwell for whom Anthony Pang and Ben Reed responded.
Gateshead Fell and Hebburn Clegwell drew 2-2. Mario Pennela and Chris Taylor netted for the Fell with Chris Hayes and Craig Gardner replying for Hebburn.
Fairs Software Tyneside Junior League
ONLY one game was staged in the league and Dunston Fed easily saw off the challenge from Cleveland Hall winning 4-0 with goals by Robert Hooks (2), Alex Meadows and Andrew Snaith.
Two games went ahead in the league cup and there were wins for Crook and Redheugh.
Crook visited West Denton where they won 7-1. Mark Surtees and Andrew Smith both scored twice and others on target were Shaun Grayson, Craig Patterson and Jonathan Stark. Alan Gordon was West Denton's only scorer.
Redheugh also made progress at the expense of Consett for whom Paul McDonald recorded his side's only goal. Richard Small, with a brace of goals, Danny Olusora, Graham Burkes and Micky Cook all found the net for Redheugh.
Apollo Doors Gateshead Youth League
Stephen Ivers, Tom Williams and Johnny Dobson all scored twice when Leam Rangers G defeated Whickham Fellside R 6-1 in the Under-11 section.
A hat-trick from Scott Anderson was a feature of a 4-1 victory for Leam Rangers Y at the expense of Blackfyne and goals from Alec Tait (4), Stephen Dover (3) and Mark Potts (2) earned Low Fell a nine goal success at Consett.
Luke Gilbert scored all four goals in Sandhole's victory over Felling and both Andrew Mitchell and Elliott Miller scored twice when Whickham Fellside B defeated Swalwell 7-1.
In the Under-12 division the highlight was a 10-3 win for Leam Rangers over Chopwell. Gary McIntyre and Kyle Moffatt both scored five times and Dave Graham recorded a hat-trick for Chopwell.
Shaun Donaghy was another player to hit a hat-trick when Blackfyne finished 6-3 in front of Whickham Glebe when the sides met in the Under-13 division.
Adam Bell hit four goals in Winlaton's victory at Cooper Hall for whom Jonathan Rochford (3) and Shaun Embleton (2) shared five goals, but the visitors won 6-5.
Matthew Boots (3) and Martin Williams (2) starred in Redheugh's 6-1 victory over Coxhoe and a hat-trick from Dean Mordue swept Chopwell to victory when they entertained Sandhole.
Craig Rankin bagged a brace of goals in Felling's win at Cleveland Hall and so too did Shane Segar when Winlaton defeated Leam Rangers.
At Under-14 level Carl Turner bagged a brace of goals for Consett and so too did Mark Murphy when Blackfyne won 4-3 and another player to score twice was Lee Harris in Leam Rangers' victory over Felling. Andrew Talor also bagged a brace when Sandhole finished 5-1 ahead of Rutherford.
In the Under-15 division Swalwell produced the biggest score defeating Prudhoe Town 10-1 as the goals flowed from Gavin Courtney (4), Craig Boyd (4), Irvine Ruddick (3) and David McNestry (2).
A hat-trick from Nick Marshall earned Leam Rangers the points at the expense of Sandhole, Cleveland Hall narrowly defeat Redheugh 3-2 and Wylam were similarly stretched before seeing off the challenge of Blaydon by the odd goal in three.
Hartburn
The Under-13s made the best of possible starts in their 6-2 win against Nunthorpe Athletic when Robbie Cockin netted in the opening minutes with a deep cross beating the keeper.
This lead was extended as Hartburn gained control of the midfield with fine work by Ian Cooper and David Lipthorpe who laid the ball to Nicky Pearson to finish with ease. The lead was extended to three nil with a great shot by David Burns beating the keeper with sheer pace, Nunthorpe pulled on back to make it 3-1 at half time.
The second half opened as the first finished with Hartburn tying up the middle of the park and applying pressure to the Nunthorpe defence, a great shot by Pearson was turned into the net by the Nunthorpe full back to extend the lead to 4-1. Nunthorpe never gave up and started to pressurise the Hartburn defence who got themselves into trouble and conceded a second goal.
This was soon changed when a shot by Cockin was partially cleared and was picked up by Cooper and put away to make it 5-1, the best was still to come with Cockin getting the ball on the half way line he turned one defender inside out and promptly beat two others with ease and took it round the keeper for the sixth goal, a great finish! Man of the Match: Robbie Cockin.
Blackfyne
THE Under-8s beat Low Fell (a) 3-0 with goals from Connor Burns (2) and Phil McConnell. Man of the match was Andrew Turnbull.
The Under-9s fought out a 0-0 draw with Low Fell (a) with Peter Westgarth man of the match.
The Under-10s beat Swalwell (a) 5-0 with Paul bell scoring three and Shaun Wood two. Man of the match was Keiran Armstrong.
The Under-14s beat local rivals Consett 4-3 in a thrilling game. Mark Murphy (2), Harry James and Matthew Scott were the scorers with Harry James man of the match.
Coxhoe Athletic
THE Under-16 had a good win over South Shields Wanderers 7-1.
Goals from Neil Charlton, John Jury, Stephen Carruthers, Steven Grady and a hat-trick from Jonathan Haggart capped a good team performance.
Chester-le-Street Town
Us striker Craig Ellison turned in a superb individual performance at the Riverside where the Cestrians beat South Tyneside 7-1 in the first round of the league cup.
In a one-sided contest despite Chester's domination in the first half they only had man of the match Ellison's goal to show for their efforts. After the break Ellis hit five more and was joined on the scoresheet at Elliott Rose.
The Under-18s were also in first round league cup action at Moor Park. David Hope gave the Cestrians a first minute lead before Craig Thorn's effort and a superb chip from Graham Kyme sent the home side in 3-0 up at the break.
Despite Chester's domination with some fine one a\nd two-touch football, they only had a fine goal from David Tait to shoe for their second half performance. Andrew Potter powered a fine 30-yard drive against the crossbar and David Hope missed a penalty as the Cestrians progressed to the second round comfortably. Tierney scored a consolation for Blackfyne. David Tait was Chester-le-Street's man of the match.
The Under-17s have no game at the weekend. The Under-18s resume league duties at Brandon FC (10.30am).
Darlington 21st Allstars
DARLINGTON 21st Allstars JFC's teams saw midweek action in their first forays into this season's Teesside Alliance League Cup and whilst no fewer than seven teams went through to the next round, no team won both their games this week.
The most successful Allstars' team were the Under 14s who saw Cup action at Nunthorpe Athletic.
They gave their best display of the season so far to finish with a well-earned 1-0 victory. Sean Edwards got the goal and goalkeeper Marc Briggs was Man of the Match.
Then another journey this time to Billingham Town in the League, produced an excellent all-round team performance and a 3-3 draw, all six goals coming in the first half.
Edwards, Phillip Grainger and Thomas Reeves got the goals and Man of the Match was Liam Francis.
The Under 15s had a home Cup tie against Stokesley SC and gained a deserved 2-0 victory.
Darren Thompson lobbed the keeper for a first-half goal and Man of the Match Paul Robertson converted a second-half penalty
