Acklam SW 6 v 0 Stokesley SC
League Champions Acklam Steelworks made it nine wins from nine League games and move back to the top of the table after a comfortable win over Stokesley Sports Club. Dean Talukder gave the Champions a fifth minute lead and they never looked in danger. Lee Atkinson with his 10th of the season added a second.Talukder then added his second before Micky Walker made it 4-0 going into the break. Keith Whitehead and Talukder, who completed his hat-trick, completed the scoring.
Carlin How 7 v 2 Bedale Ath
Carlin How were on top for the opening half hour when entertaining a weakened Bedale Athletic side and they took a 16th minute lead when a persistent Kevin Hampton knocked the ball home from a tight angle. Steve Hampton then crossed the ball for Martin Say to fire home before Ryan Scott got in on the act when he floated a free-kick into the top corner from twenty yards. In the 32nd minute the home side took a 4-0 lead when Scott put Say through. He rounded the keeper and slotted home his seventh of the season. In the 39th minute the visitors were given the chance of a lifetime when referee Colin Thurlow awarded a penalty for a push in the box. Michael Robinson struck home the disputed penalty. Just before half-time Scott got on the end of a Say cross to take his team into the half time break 5-1 up. On the hour Scott completed his hat trick. Then Bedale were awarded a second penalty when keeper Mark Harkin tried to punch the ball clear from a cross but caught Adam Bramley on the side of the head. Robinson scored his second penalty of the match and his 5th goal of the season to make it 6-2. Starsmore made it 7-2 late on.
Hollybush Utd 5 v 1 BEADS FC
Hollybush United bounced back from last week's defeat, but were made to sweat when entertaining Middlesbrough side BEADS, who put out the home side's rivals Carlin How out of the MacMillan Bowl. The Middlesbrough side were first to strike when Alan Oliver scored after only eight minutes. But the Hollybush reversed the scoreline when Nicky Ward and Liam Ball scored. The home side pressed forward to increase their lead with goals from Ward and two from Martin Dewing.
Mackinlay Park 4 v 2 Guisb Town Res
Redcar side Mackinlay Park who put up a good display against League Champions Acklam last week, were entertaining rock bottom club Guisborough Town Reserves who have yet to gain a point. The first twenty minutes were fairly even but the home side struck in the 23rd minute when Michael Collantine scored. The same player added a second and completed his hat-trick. On the hour Adam Brunskill with his first of the season made it 4-0. The visitors then found some form and in the 80th minute they made it 4-1 when Chris Thompson scored his first of the season. Paul Mecos pulled it back to 4-2 but the home side were worthy winners and completed their second win of the season.
In a tight match the game swung end to end but no goals forthcoming until five minutes before halftime when Stuart Jackson struck with his 4th of the season to give the home side a 1-0 halftime lead. On the hour Richmond drew level when Mark Fleetwood scored his second of the season. In the very next minute Thornaby were reduced to ten men when goalscorer Jackson was sent off. The home side struck what they thought would be the winner when Nicky Teasdale found the net. But with three minutes remaining a first of the season from Richard Meehan gave the visitors a point.
Whitby Town Res 4 v 0 New Marske SC
Whitby Town Reserves without a point so far this season took a 25th minute lead when entertaining New Marske Sports Club. Emilio Roldan with his fourth of the season gave the home side a narrow 1-0 half-time lead. In the second half the visitors pressed forward looking for a way back into the game but in the 75th minute Simon Anderson doubled the Whitby sides lead to 2-0. With four minutes remaining a first win of the season looked on the cards when Paul Graham made it 3-0 despite the home side being reduced to ten men when Graham Brewer was sent off for violent conduct. In the very last minute Whitby Town recorded their first win of the season when Jonathan Newton added his second of the season.
Macmillan Bowl First Round
Grangetown BC 2 v 0 Fishburn Park
Holders Grangetown Boys Club progressed to the second of this competition after a hard fought match against Whitby side Fishburn Park. An even match looked like it may go into extra time, but in 70th minute Michael Broughton gave the Boys Club the lead.Fishburn pushed forward and tried to find a goal to make it all square. But with just three minutes remaining the Boys Club broke away from the visitors' constant pressure and Broughton was on hand to score his second of the game and secure a second round match at home to Richmond Town.
Nunthorpe Ath 4 v1 Wolviston Res
Nunthorpe Athletic took the lead when entertaining Wolviston Reserves in this MacMillan Bowl first round match. Andrew Southern with his first of the season gave the home side a 20th minute lead.
Glyn Swinnerton then made it 2-0 with a great long range shot that gave Nunthorpe a 2-0 advantage. The visitors never really threatened and it came as no surprise when Peter Boldison made it 3-0 on the hour and with ten minutes remaining Boldison added his second. The home side then relaxed and Wolviston scored a late consolation through Stewart Wennington in the 83rd minute, but Nunthorpe go through to the second round line up with a home match against Whitby Town Reserves.
Thornaby YC 6 v 0 Cargo Fleet
Thornaby Youth Club bounced back from two narrow League defeats and turned on the style when entertaining Cargo fleet in this first round. A Mac Allen cross was headed home by Guy Whatmore after only sixteen minutes to give the home side the lead.
Four minutes later Robert Shaw made it two, ten minutes later he struck again and made it three. Five minutes into the second half the Youth Club took a 4-0 lead when Shaw headed home a Marty Moore cross and completed his hat trick. Moore then made it 5-0 when he beat keeper Steve Brown direct from a corner kick.
Shaw made it six with his fourth of the match. But in the 65th minute the Youth Club were reduced to ten men when Wayne Mahoney was sent off for a second cautionable offence when he tried to stop the keeper from taking a quick free kick and was then sent of by the referee. The Youth Club will now play Hollybush United at North Skelton in the second round.
