THE children of staff at London Electricity cast their nets into the world of work as part of the organisation's Bring Your Kids to Work Day.
A group of 28 youngsters, aged between 11 and 15 spent the day visiting the customer service centre at Sunderland's Doxford International Business Park to learn new skills and gain an insight into the world of work.
It was London Electricity's fifth annual Bring Your Kids to Work Day and included a number of activities such as IT demonstrations, clay model building and competitions.
One session, which proved particularly popular, was a training course called Fish! which explored the theme of customer service through video and a series of team activities.
The day also provided an opportunity for the group to shadow their parents and see what their jobs involved.
Elizabeth Metcalfe, community manager at London Electricity, Doxford, said: "Bring Your Kids to Work is always a popular day with both staff and children, providing a great opportunity for the kids to learn about working practices in a fun and informal environment."
London Electricity employs more than 1,000 staff at its Doxford base. As well as handling customer accounts and billing, the company is a supplier of gas and electricity.
