THE people behind an appeal to cover the costs of a little girl's trip to Disney World will be celebrating success at a party tonight.
An incredible £10,000 has flooded into Emily's Disney Dream Fund in just three weeks.
She will be leaving from Manchester Airport with her family for the holiday of a lifetime on Tuesday, October 9.
Her mum, Caroline, her partner, David, sister, Ashley, and grandmother, Margaret, all know they have to make the most of the fortnight with four-year-old Emily Guiney, from Ayrshire in Scotland.
She has terminal cancer and has been given no more than a few months to live.
"The response has just been incredible," said appeal spokeswoman Tina Lambert yesterday.
"The whole family has been overwhelmed by the response and are so grateful to everyone who has helped.
"They will be sending postcards when they are in America and arranging to say a personal thank-you to as many people as they can when they come home."
Tonight's celebration at the Comrades Club in Richmond, North Yorkshire, is one of the final fundraising events, and includes a performance by popular party band, Go Nuts.
Everyone going is encouraged to wear wigs or 1960s or 1970s costume, which could win them prizes.
A raffle will also be held during the evening.
"It's one way we can say a big thank-you and celebrate the success of the appeal,'' added Mrs Lambert.
Emily has a malignant tumour which has not responded to conventional treatment.
Her grandmother, Margaret Guiney, who lives in Richmond, launched the appeal with the support of The Northern Echo at the beginning of the month.
