PEOPLE are being invited to try their hand at making sculptures.
The 16th Gateshead Family Sculpture Day is being held in Saltwell Park, from 11am to 4pm, on Sunday, October 7.
All would-be sculptors need to bring along to the free event is a hammer and enthusiasm, as professional sculptors will be on hand to help out and provide wood for the sculptures.
There will also be the chance to glaze tiles, and at the end families can take away their creations, so that they can have pride of place at home.
Music will be provided by the Cajun Aces, and the theme of this year's event will be Music in the Park.
Visitors to the event will also have the chance to see the work that has been done to one of the region's finest Victorian parks, as part of its five-year, multi-million pound revamp.
