Tow Law Cup
All three matches in the First Round produced close finishes when each just missed being taken to the extra deciding point. Tow Law Cattle Mart came very close to beating the visiting Esh Stag's Head, who featured a very strong darts side but they went down by the odd point. Malcolm Boughey, Bob McFadden and Colin Boughey won for the Mart with Derek Metcalfe, who hit a maximum, Keith Robson and John Hodgson levelling. The first two doubles were shared but then Stephen Boughey and Bob McFadden clinched the darts side victory. However the dominoes failed to go in favour of the Cattle Mart, who collected only three points and went out of the competition by two points.
Sunniside Comedian commanded the dominoes at Tow Law New Market when they only dropped three points when Raymond Wright, Jeff Ridley, Dave Thompson and Jim Smythe won singles for them whilst Darren Yeoman and Bobby Grey replied. However the strong darts side for the New Market saw them through when they only dropped two singles to Jim Smythe and Gordon Whitfield. The home winners were Ken Atkinson, Bobby Grey, Arthur Atkinson and Colin Perry. There were maximums from the two Atkinson brothers and Colin Perry.
