DIMPRESSIVE Darlington completed the double at the Ryton Rugby Club hosted inaugural Under-12 and Under-11 Durham county 7-a-side competition.
Eight teams from all over the county took part in the under 12s competition and were split into two groups, the winners of each group played in the final.
Winners of group one were West Hartlepool while Darlington progressed past Mowden Park, Billingham and Horden in group two. Darlington scored 17 tries without conceding any.
The final between Darlington and West Hartlepool was entertaining. West scored the first try but that was followed by 4 tries from the eventual winners Darlington.
Squad: A Carr, R Clegg, J Coleman, J Dawson, M Lister, J Kibirige, R Leigh, S Saddington and captain P Smith.
In the Under-11 competition Darlington also provided very strong competition.
They were involved in a round robin final against Durham City and West Hartlepool and Darlington beat City comfortably, but their final game against West proved a little harder.
There skill and superior strength however was too much for a gallant West side who lost by five tries to one.
Squad: J Richardson, R Mountjoy, R Deakin, J Butler, W Manners, P Noel, C Williams, C Plenderleith, T Lawson and captain R Barnard.
Coaches and parents were very proud of the players who represented Darlington at Ryton.
