A NEW generation of pop stars is being given the chance to shine at a one-day event next month.
Music development agency Generator North-East is holding the New generation Pop and DJ School for people under the age of 18.
The event takes place at the Customs House, in South Shields, on Tuesday, October 23, from 10am to 5pm.
Generator's Sue Wilkinson said: "Thousands of youngsters dream of being the next big thing - next year's Hear'Say, Oasis, or Fatboy Slim. But securing a record deal and getting on Top of the Pops isn't as easy as it might look.
"Generator hopes the New generation will give young people a better insight into the music industry and making music."
The event is free and further details are available on 0191-2450099
