WADDLING toddlers took the streets of their local village to raise funds for charity.
More than 20 youngsters from Bakers House Day Nursery, in Staindrop, took part in a sponsored "toddle waddle" to raise funds for the Meningitis Trust.
A team of six staff joined the group of toddlers on the 30 minute walk, and already their efforts have raised more than £300 in sponsorship.
Staff at the nursery decided to organise the walk after seeing a sponsorship form while shopping in Tesco, and they are even thinking of taking part in a similar event in the future.
Melanie Mitchell, deputy manager of the nursery, said: "It was absolutely pouring down throughout the walk, but the toddlers loved the rain so it made it more fun for them.
"Some of the younger ones had to be pushed in prams, but they did really well to walk for so long."
