TELEPHONE applications and software business Teleware has moved into a £4m headquarters in Thirsk.
The company has moved its 80 head office staff from a base in the town to the new 30,000sq ft premises on Thirsk Industrial Park.
Teleware was founded in 1991 by Telework Systems, a £21m-a-year turnover British company. It provides its products and services to blue chip firms including American Express, BT, British Airways, Hewlett Packard and Pricewaterhouse-Coopers.
The new base includes a customer centre and purpose-built facilities for 40 research and development staff.
Its commitment to constant innovation has allowed it to build a reputation as a pioneer of computer telephone applications to support modern working practices for mobile workforces, including home working and teleworking.
Managing director Tony Knight said: "This move represents a landmark in TeleWare's history. I am delighted that our Thirsk-based staff, who have played such a vital role in the company's success, can now benefit from state-of-the art facilities."
Opening the building, Vale of York MP Anne McIntosh said: "Thirsk is an excellent location for businesses, and it's great to see companies such as TeleWare locating their head offices here. This will bring value to the region through the creation of jobs and the company's active support of the local community."
