Bishop Auckland's Golf Club's junior members enjoyed a successful summer as they scooped two trophies in Durham competitions.
They won both the Durham County Junior Golf Society Southern League (DCJGS) and then became overall Durham County champions, wrestling the title away from Whickham who won last year.
The club's junior liaison officer, Ian Graham, was satisfied to see Bishop's young golfers fulfill their potential.
"The juniors last won in 1997, and since then those lads have moved on into senior golf.
"These lads have been with us since they were 11, 12 and 13 and it's always been the plan to stick with them and it's worked out quite well.
"If you look at the names on the trophy, Bishop Auckland's name is on there quite a lot. Ourselves, Whickham and other big clubs always do well in this competition.
The DCJGS is split into three section: southern, north-west and the north-east. Bishop overcame the challenge of ten other teams to claim the southern title, finished ahead of the likes of Eaglescliffe, Darlington and Blackwell Grange.
They then beat the winners of the other two sections - Whickham and Chester-le-Street - in a round-robin to win the overall championship
