HUNDREDS of people will be drawing on their talents at an event in Durham City next weekend.
The Big Draw, organised by Durham County Council, will give people of all ages the chance to work with professional artists.
The event, part of the nationwide Family Learning Weekend, will be held at County Hall, Durham, next Saturday, from noon to 3pm.
Artists from Bearpark Artist Cooperative will help people learn about print making and drawing with unusual objects.
"There's also an opportunity to create computer-generated portraits of your family with the help of information technology specialists from the county council's arts, libraries and museums department," said department spokeswoman Sheila Owens.
"We'll also be handing out vouchers that will give children free admission to the dli Museum and Durham Art Gallery throughout the day so that families can have a great day out."
The Big Draw is being held to highlight Drawing Power: The Campaign for Drawing, which aims to promote the role of drawing in people's lives. Family Learning Weekend is designed to encourage more families and friends to learn together.
