YOUNG carers have received a cash boost thanks to call centre staff.
Workers at phone company Orange's complex, in Peterlee, County Durham, held a beach party fun day which raised £1,600 for Easington Young Carers.
The event had a Hawaiian theme and staff dressed in beach clothes, ate Hawaiian food and took part in hula competitions and treasure hunts.
The carers group, based in Peterlee, gives support and advice to youngsters who care for sick or disabled relatives.
The scheme, which is run by the children's charity Barnardo's, will use the money for days out and activities for the youngsters.
The head of the call centre, Neil Miles, said: "We are committed to supporting the community in which we operate and where our staff and families live.
"Last year alone, staff working at our Peterlee site raised almost £10,00 for a number of charities. So far this year, they have already raised over £9,000."
