AN MP is hoping to report good news on a swimming pool appeal at a public meeting this weekend.
Vera Baird, the MP for Redcar, will attend the meeting of Get Redcar a Swimming Pool (Grasp) being held on Saturday, from 1pm, in The Coatham Memorial Hall.
Prior to the event she will have met officials from Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council and hopes to have gained information on the help they can provide on accessing funding for a pool.
Ms Baird said: "I expect to be able to announce to the meeting that the council is fully supportive of the aims and objectives of the Grasp organisation and that it has agreed to work with us to get the best for the town."
