A HOSPICE shop received a visit from former Conservative leader William Hague MP to mark three years of successful trading.
Since it opened, St Teresa's Hospice shop in Leyburn, North Yorkshire has raised nearly £50,000 for the hospice in Darlington, which provides free care and support for people suffering from life-limiting illnesses.
Manageress Marjorie Turner and hospice director Jane Bradshaw were joined by other volunteers at the shop to welcome Mr Hague and offer him a slice of birthday cake.
Mr Hague said: "It was a pleasure to visit the St Teresa's Hospice shop and meet everyone who works so hard there. The funds they raise are essential to help keep the invaluable service the hospice provides in the Darlington area up and running.
"I was delighted to join in their celebrations and wish them continued success in the future."
During his visit, Mr Hague kept busy by working behind the counter
