A TEENAGER who was given a supervision order after sparking a street brawl has walked free from court again after failing to comply with it.
Kevin Warburton, 16, was sentenced to a two-year supervision order in May, after causing a violent affray on February 18.
Newcastle Crown Court heard how he smashed two windows at his mother's home and then "shouted and bawled" in the street brawl, which resulted in a passer-by being seriously injured.
Julie Clemitson, prosecuting, told the court Warburton played no part in the violent attack, but it was his behaviour which started the fracas.
Miss Clemitson said the youth offending team had tried to help Warburton comply with the terms of the supervision order, but he persistently failed to attend.
Tony Hawks, for Warburton, said the reason for his absence was that his long-term partner had given birth to his second child 16 weeks early.
Judge Maurice Carr sentenced Warburton, of Albrough Street, South Shields, to a 40-hour community punishment order, but said if he breached the order again he would be jailed.
