SCHOOLS in east Cleveland are to benefit from more than £1.75m of Government investment.
The cash is part of a Space for Sport and Art Scheme, which aims to boost facilities and provide more opportunities for children.
A new sports hall and changing rooms will be built at St Peter's Primary School in Brotton. It will also be available for community groups.
An arts and sports building has been given the go-ahead for Bankfields Primary School, Normanby, which will be home to a music and drama hall, art studio and community room. The schemes will cost £450,000 each.
Extensions costing £460,000 will be made to Dormanstown Primary School to provide a music and drama hall, and a multi-sensory special needs and arts area.
There are also plans for a £450,000 scheme at Newcomen Primary School, Redcar.
